We are looking for qualified candidates to fill for the positions below.

  • Female School Nurse
Job Responsibilities & Duties
  • The School Nurse is responsible in strengthening and facilitating the educational process by protecting and improving the health status of students. The major focus of the School Nurse is to prevent illness and disability, and the early detection and correction of health problems. She is uniquely qualified in health assessment, preventive health and referral procedures.
  • FUNCTIONS
    • Provide health assessments
      • Obtains health and developmental history of students
      • Screens and evaluates findings for deficits in vision, hearing, growth, etc.
        • Conduct eye exams with students twice per year
        • Conduct regular lice checks
      • Observe student’s development and health patterns as basis for nursing assessment and nursing diagnosis
      • Identifies health findings, which do not fall with the normal range
      • Assists with physical examinations when conducted in school
    • Develops and implements a health plan
      • Interprets the health status of students to school personnel
      • Initiates referrals to parents and school personnel for intervention, remediation, and follow-through
      • Provides updated information to students, parents and school personnel
      • Recommends and helps implement modifications of school programs to meet students’ health needs
      • Uses existing health resources to provide appropriate care of students
    • Provides information on health
    • Provides health information to assist students and families in making health-related decisions
    • Serve as a trainer for local staff e.g. first aid
    • Serve as resource person to both head teachers and local staff in health instruction when requested and provide assistance in health curriculum development
    • Maintains, evaluates and interprets cumulative health data to accommodate individual needs of students
    • Plans and implements school health management protocols for students with chronic health problems, including the administration of medication
    • Develops procedures and provides for crises intervention for acute illness and injury
    • Promotes and assists in the control of communicable diseases through early detection, surveillance and reporting of contagious diseases
    • Engages in research and evaluation of existing school health services
    • Act as a change agent for school health programs
    • Assume responsibility for appropriate assessment, planning, intervention, management, evaluation and referral health-related activities for students as needed
  • ADMINISTRATION
    • Responsible in maintaining and updating student health records
    • Helps develop/revise school health policies and procedures
    • Prepares budget for school health supplies
    • Prepares first aid kits for the campus
    • Reports regularly in writing to the Principal/Site Director on school health-related activities
    • Implements the school medication policy and procedure
  • COORDINATION
    • Serve as a liaison between parents and students; particularly when students are sick or have had an injury
Job Requirements
  • Must be Cambodian
  • Female applicants only
  • Very good English communication skills
  • Good computer skills
  • Very good organizational skills
  • One year experience, preferably in a school setting
  • A BS degree in Nursing or a related field
